Use for fixing timber into light duty/guage steel without the need for pre-drilling. The wings clear the timber to reduce jacking when drilling the steel and snap off once in contact with the steel, allowing the hardened threads to fix into the heavy steel substrate. Countersunk head has self-countersinking ribs to allow the head to sink flush into the timber neatly.
